Sci-Fi Classics Trilogy

Presented here is a trilogy that combines elements of three classics in English literature with T. J. P. Campbell’s brand of creative and dramatic science fiction; usually described as T. J. P. Campbell’s sci-fi classics mash-up trilogy.

The three books in order are:

The associated English literature classics being: Jane Austen’s 1813 classic Pride and Prejudice; a second book inspired by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s creation of Sherlock Holmes (his first Sherlock Holmes publication A Study in Scarlet was published in Beeton’s Christmas Annual in 1887); and the last book is Emily Brontë’s 1847 classic Wuthering Heights.

The first book is one of co-authorship due to it’s strict adherence initially to the original novel. Hence the decision to name both authors on the front cover. The characters of the original novel are all involved in the mash-up. Regency culture sits on top of the rapid modernisation of the characters.

The second book presents the daughter of Sherlock Holmes, Skylar. She has to solve a crime that she is initially given no knowledge of except for the fact it exists and needs to be solved. She is a distinctive character, a genius surpassing her father’s detective abilities. Her sidekick, her Dr Watson, is a shapeshifter from a universe different to her own called Piron.  The story involves a strong element of Time Travel. Her physical characteristics are striking, what with her shining green emerald-like eyes, her shock of snow white afro hair, and her dark tanned skin (her missing mother, whom she had no memory of was black, and, of course, Sherlock, her father, was white).

The third book is interesting in that the Brontë family saved from their historical deaths unbeknown to the public are teamed up with the characters of Emily’s Wuthering Heights, who likewise were saved from their deaths.

Although the three books can be read independently to one another, the connection between them is an omnipotent alien race called the Equalisers with more and more revealed about them as the trilogy progresses. It is they who have the power and technology to create the scenarios of fictional characters as real world characters by manipulating parallel worlds and Time and Space. To cut a long history short, the Equalisers act as their name suggests. They interfere in the machinations of conquering and nefarious races to give their victims a fighting chance. They do so using extremely creative means by empowering a select few of the victim race (in these books mainly humanity) with access to technological devices that will enable a fair fight. Victory for the victims is never guaranteed.
