The Linden brothers, Paul and Gerald, are waylaid by an alien called Ambergarb in an effort to repair his “vehicle”—a repair that spectacularly fails …

Paul, Gerald and Ambergarb find themselves marooned on the Planet of the Girls where Earth girls have worked as slaves for the ruthless Thordorians over the last 10, 000 years.

The Thordorians can award the girls “meltdown honour” for disobeying the simplest of rules (“crying is not allowed”). All the girls are aged between 12 and 15. When they reach 16 they are awarded the meltdown honour.

The Linden brothers have to steal a “Navigation Stabiliser Lever” on the Planet of the Girls to help repair Ambergarb’s vehicle. They trespass on the planet disguised as girls aided by Ambergarb’s “hairamajig” device—they look like the “daughters of Heavy Metal roadies”.

They find girls living on porridge soaked in sour milk for breakfast, and cabbages boiled in smelly water for supper (“… and that’s it sonny Jim.”). This causes havoc with the girls’ digestion. Disgusting smells and noisy flatulence pervade the slave areas.

A story with plenty of problem solving, jeopardy, action and comedy.

“I can’t see how the Universe allows this sort of thing,” I protested. “All this slavery and killing of innocent girls.”
